Update Regarding Return to Campus for Monday, 1/13/2025

Dear 153rd Street Elementary School Families,

I hope this message finds you safe and well.

We are currently facing an unprecedented emergency with the confluence of factors – wind, fire, and smoke – which have created dangerous, complex situations that present unsafe conditions that is impacting our community. Please know that we are closely monitoring the situation and taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families.

At this time, we ask that everyone follow the guidance of local authorities and stay informed about the ongoing situation. Please be aware of the following:

  1. Safety First: If you are in an area directly affected by the emergency, please follow evacuation orders or shelter-in-place instructions as directed by local officials.
  2. School Operations: The District will provide an update on Sunday, January 12th regarding a return to campus.
  3. Stay Informed: We will continue to provide updates via email, text alerts, Class Dojo and the school website as new information becomes available.
  4. Support and Resources: If you or your family need assistance, please visit lausd.org to learn about available City, County, and community-based resources and connect with entities who are prepared to assist.

We understand this is a difficult and uncertain time, but please remember that we are all in this together. Our priority is the safety of each and every member of our school community. We will continue to do everything we can to support you.
